From Cabins:  go back down the mountain and take Rte 55W for 1 mile, turn right at the frst light onto Apple Mountain Rd and then left onto Rte 66W, take next exit onto Rte 522S, then right on Rte 55W again…
From Front Royal:  head North out of town on Front Royal Ave (Rte 55N), cross over both Shenandoah River branches & take first left on Rte 55W…
Take Rte 55 west out of Riverton/Front Royal several miles, turn left onto Fort Valley Rd for a mile or so, turn left onto Mountain Rd (follow sign for Fish Hatchery), go several miles to parking area on the right.

Signal Knob Trail
This trail takes you up to Signal Knob with great views of the valley north toward Winchester and Strasburg. Choose a steep approach or more gradual grade approach via the Little Passage Creek trail and the Powell’s Fort parking lot.

Massanutten Mountain Trail
Any roads that cross Massanutten Mountain’s western ridge will cross the Massanutten Mountain Trail that mostly runs along the ridge top. Woodstock Tower Road and Moreland Gap Road will both intersect it. Ascending Woodstock Tower affords an incredible view of the Seven Bends of the Shenandoah River (north fork).

Kennedy Peak Trail
The Kennedy Peak Trail is a bit further south – closer to Luray.
